Hangurs was born from a timeless truth — that sharing our clothes is a common behavior, one that we've been doing with friends and family for years. Because we've all been there. We've loved a stranger's outfit, secretly wishing we could wear it and how it might look on ourselves. And rather than asking if we can borrow the item, we quickly ask what store they got it at. But what if we treated everyone like our friends and family? What if borrowing expanded into an entire community?

HOW IT STARTED
Growing up, I was fortunate to have a beautiful older sister who served as my fashion icon and role model. Sneaking into her room, I would stare at her closet. Borrowing her clothes became the norm. In fact, it was a tradition that brought us closer together and allowed us to bond over something we both loved, fashion.
Realizing that this behavior was shared with many sisters, friends, and all the sort, I saw a gap in the market for a safe and secure way to share our clothes beyond this friends & family model.

And when my sister tragically passed away in 2020, I went through her closet one last time. Seeing all her favorite pieces, pieces she would let me borrow for important nights, it was the final push I needed to go after my idea. This was the beginning of Hangurs — an innovative fashion rental marketplace connecting closets near you. I later resigned from partner at my wealth advisory firm to chase my dream. A dream my sister would've loved to be a part of.
